Ballet Program
Beginner level classes in all age groups. Age-appropriate technique and bar work. Dancers will perform routines which increase flexibility, improve coordination, build confidence and encourage teamwork.
3-4 Year-Old Beginner:
The focus of this class is getting students moving and introducing them to some of the basic ballet terms using barre work. The creative movement portion of this class includes learning how to isolate various body parts, improving coordination, exploring movement, and increasing confidence.
5-7 Year-Old Beginner:
This class includes some of the creative movement, but begins to focus more on ballet terms using barre work as well as basic floor work. Students will continue the aspects of the 3-4 year-old class, but will also start to improve strength and flexibility, as well as focus on musicality.
8-11-Year-Old Beginner:
This class includes barre and floor work, and also includes the other areas covered in the younger beginner classes. At this age, floor work becomes combinations putting groups of steps together. This helps improve the student’s ability to transition between steps, as well as retain combinations that change weekly.
