Hearing ... feeling ... moving ... singing ... creating ... sharing ... reading ... and playing music ... children absorb and store musical patterns and concepts for enjoyment and growth in all of their musical endeavors.

Parent involvement is a key factor in a student's success. Parents or primary care givers are guided in methods to keep home practice enjoyable and productive.

The Academy's Harmony Road teachers receive intensive training in the program and are excellent classroom managers. Classes are fun, active, engaging and effective.

Class Progression:
"New" students enter into either a Harmony Road 1, Young Musician 1, or Keyboard Prep 1 class section based on their age.

Students continue through levels 2, 3, 4 during future semesters (note: Keyboard Prep through level 3). Students are then eligible to register for Keyboard Musician 1 and continue through KM 2, 3, 4 then move on to Private Instruction.

Make-Up Policy

Tuition reserves all registered classes or lesson times during the semester for a student regardless of student non-attendance, illness, vacation, field trips, etc. The Academy is not obligated to make up for student absences. Absent keyboard class students will have homework sent to them automatically. If space is available, the student may participate in another class. In the event of the Academy closing or teacher cancellation, a make-up date will be scheduled.

Harmony Road 1

Carefully constructed for young children, the course emphasizes ear training, solfege singing, keyboard playing, ensemble and rhythm activities, movement and musical creativity.

This exceptional course encourages "inner hearing", transposition, improvisation, composition and sightreading development.

Young Musician 1

This course introduces beginning students to keyboard performance and note reading in a carefully sequenced, holistic program which includes organized development of pitch, rhythm, solfege singing, keyboard and movement activities.

Keyboard Prep 1

An exciting course designed for children ages 8 through 10 who are studying music for the first time, this program develops basic musicianship skills through ear training, solfege singing, keyboard solo and ensemble performance and musical composition.
