A REVIEW by SHIA
“I recently saw A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM at The Folger Theatre. It was an amazing production! I thought the lights were amazing and the play was hilarious. The set was interesting. Through the whole play the set did not change. It changed only by people moving things such as flipping pillows around. I like how everyone on stage was always doing something. For instance, for the rude mechanicals play, the director changed it to a girl's school drama club, so the teacher was standing on the side, then she was reading the lines. And the people watching the play at the wedding were also moving into the audience. And when Oberon and Puck were watching Hermia, Demetrius and Helena doing goofy stuff, they were up in the trees eating apples and giggling and it was amazing how they did all of this in the set. Some of the things I didn't really like were Puck's costume. It didn't really make sense. He had bras on and a brown, pink and green hula skirt looking garment made of scarves. He looked like a hula dancer. There were two parts that were also kind of confusing to me. Other than that I loved it! It was a great play and very funny. I really liked not only the production but that there were a lot of Shakespeare sculptures and museums nearby.”
