Creative Movement
Dance Class for 3 - 4 Year Olds
Overview
Perfect for the very young dancer! This class is open to children able to take class without parent help.
The class builds motor skills, balance, and imaginative movement while exploring basics in ballet, tap, and jazz styles to expose children to a well rounded Musical Theater experience. Both girls and boys welcome! Students not yet 5 years old benefit by repeating this class. Each session, coordination, confidence, control and skill deepen with constantly varying routines.
Classes are one hour and include three dance styles: Ballet, Tap and Jazz/Musical Theater. Classes culminate in a final showcase in which the ensemble performs a specially choreographed routine.

Class Attire
No streets shoes in the dance studio. Hair must be securely off face. No dangling jewelry.
*Dance accessories such as leg warmers, skirts, and sweaters are allowed, but must be dancewear. No sweat pants, sports jackets, or general clothing allowed.
Where to Purchase
For younger students, it is recommended dance attire and shoes be purchased at Target or Payless as prices tend to be lower and little feet grow fast.
For older students, it is recommended to be fitted at a dance store to ensure the appropriate sizing and shoes are supportive and comfortable. Footlights in Frederick, Maryland – great for pointe shoe fittings!
Recital Attire
For the recital, all students will be required to purchase additional dance attire/accessories. We do our best to choose affordable items that can easily be ordered online and worn again for dance/pleasure.

Class attendance policy
Regular class attendance is vital to student progress and a successful recital. Students who miss more than four classes a semester will not be permitted to perform in the recital, unless granted permission by the teacher after private lessons and consultation. Three consecutively missed classes also disqualifies a student from participating. In certain, rare cases, the teacher may waive this rule. Parents should contact the teacher ahead of time to note absences. No absences, other than for illness, will be permitted the month before the recital. In addition, we expect our students to arrive on time and be prepared for class. A student who comes more than 5 minutes late may be excused from class. If repeatedly late and have been given a clear warning, we reserve the right to dismiss the student completely with no refund of tuition.
